Do you set big goals for yourself and constantly fall short? Start something only to find that a week later you have reverted back to the old you again and given up the good habits that you were setting yourself to achieve big things? We all know that it is the small things that we do on a daily basis which add up and compound to who we become in the end but how many of us actually stick with those small changes? Often the reason for failing to reach big things is looking to far into the distance at the big goal that you want to achieve which when you compare your progress of yesterday to today’s feels demoralising. What progress have you achieved……. you are far behind where you want to be right now.
We need to start looking and continuing to look at the micro changes that we make to our routines. Not just set up small habits that we know lead up to the big goals at the end of the tunnel but keeping these small habits up. If you want to end the constant hamster wheel cycle of getting into shape then out of shape, then back around again then start looking to implement small changes into your daily routine that help and support you. Things that can help you to do this include keeping yourself accountable i.e. with a trusted friend or if you want to keep it away from friends and family then, hire a personal trainer who can help you with this. They are also able to advise the best small habits that you can implement to get the most out of your training.
Don’t be frustrated that the large goals that you are chasing after don’t happen quickly, they will in time as long as you are persistent and consistent in your pursuit of the habits!
